The Rose Hotel, Bronx, is strategically located at 414 E 152nd St, Bronx, NY 10455, USA. This address places it within a dynamic and mixed-use area of the South Bronx, offering guests a genuine taste of local life and excellent connectivity to New York City's expansive public transportation network. Its position provides a convenient base for exploring both the vibrant Bronx borough and easily accessing Manhattan and other parts of the city.
For New Yorkers and visitors relying on public transit, the hotel's accessibility is a significant advantage. As one reviewer noted, it is "not far from many clothing stores and restaurants, even a hispanic grocery store. The area is mixed and not pristine, but my wife and I had no problem, 1-2 hours after dusk, walking three short blocks to/from the subway stop at 149th st and 3rd av." This proximity to the 149th Street-Grand Concourse subway station, served by the 2, 4, and 5 lines, is crucial. These lines provide direct and efficient connections to major Manhattan destinations like Times Square, Central Park, and the Financial District, making it incredibly convenient for guests to experience all that New York City has to offer without the need for a car.
While the immediate vicinity is characterized as "mixed and not pristine," the ease of access to public transportation and local amenities outweighs this for many travelers prioritizing convenience and value. The presence of nearby clothing stores, restaurants, and a Hispanic grocery store means guests have ready access to daily necessities and local dining options within walking distance, allowing for an immersive neighborhood experience.
For guests arriving by car, the hotel offers "super secure lot in back of the hotel" for parking. However, it's important to note the feedback from a review: "I would not do that again with a large vehicle, as the driveway is very tight (claustrophobic, even) and difficult to maneuver, getting into and out of the back area." This suggests that while parking is available and secure, it might be challenging for larger vehicles. For smaller cars or for those comfortable with tight maneuvers, this private parking can still be a valuable amenity in a city where parking is often scarce and expensive.
The hotel's location, combined with its strong public transit links, positions it as a practical choice for those looking to explore the Bronx's cultural offerings, visit family, or conduct business, while still maintaining easy access to the broader New York metropolitan area.

Rose Hotel, Bronx Reviews
My wife and I stayed here on a Thursday night for a short trip of some business/mostly leisure. There is a lot to like about this hotel: nice big tv with good cable or satellite system in front of a firm, comfortable queen bed, EXcellent climate control system for the room, good internet service, wood floors, cold mini fridge, closet and furniture to put your things and hot shower. We had two concerns with the bathroom: 1. no place to set your soap or shampoo in the shower - there needs to be at least a soap dish attached to the wall, 2. the sink is very small and tucked up under the mirror/medicine cabinet - you cannot hold your head over the sink. To brush your teeth, wet shave, or wash your face, you are better off doing it while showering. Take a thing to cover your hair if you don't want to wet your hair. The sink itself is fine, but they should have placed it further from the wall with a surrounding countertop of some sort. Also, we stayed in early spring and the air was rather stale - not unusual after being cooped up for the winter - but you cannot open windows yourself. I expect the place will be more ventilated as the weather gets warmer. Otherwise, we had a pretty quiet, restful stay. The immediate vicinity of the hotel is quiet, and it is not far from many clothing stores and restaurants, even a hispanic grocery store. The area is mixed and not pristine, but my wife and I had no problem, 1-2 hours after dusk, walking three short blocks to/from the subway stop at 149th st and 3rd av. We kept our suv parked in the super secure lot in back of the hotel, but I would not do that again with a large vehicle, as the driveway is very tight (claustrophobic, even) and difficult to maneuver, getting into and out of the back area. Overall, The Rose is a good value and convenient to the city via subway. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Apr 19, 2025 · Jerry PressleyMy room was supposed to be non-smoking, but there was constantly a strong smell of cigarette smoke coming from somewhere—I have no idea where it was coming from. I kept all the exhaust fans running all day and even stuffed a towel under the door, but the smell still got in. Without doing that, the smell would’ve been even worse.I stayed here for five nights, and this happened dozens of times every single day—from as early as 6 a.m. until past midnight. It was really frustrating and unpleasant. One good thing is that the hotel has a microwave in the common area. However, there was no hairdryer provided—I had to go out and buy one myself. Unless you're on a very tight budget or you're a smoker, I honestly wouldn't recommend this place.
May 22, 2025 · Wawa PooThe area is not the nicest, but it is a short walk to the subway if you are traveling into the city. We stayed for a few nights and there was a constant lingering smell of smoke in our room. It was faint enough that we kinda grew used to it, but it was definitely noticeable. Our keycard did not work after the first night and had to be let into our room by the front desk. The next night the same thing happened and the new person behind the desk told us the keys reset every day which we were not told when checking in. While checking in I overheard other guests asking for a “good room” because the last time they were here the AC did not work. Any time another guest closes a door in the building you can hear it slam (at least on the first floor room we stayed in) and it happens pretty frequently even at night. The room itself was a long narrow space with a queen sized bed that almost touched either side of the room. There was a refrigerator but no microwave. The bathroom has a small standing shower that was a little uncomfortable to use as every time I spun around, I would bump the water handle and change the temp. The sink in the bathroom is barely usable for anything other than washing hands because of its size and location under the medicine cabinet. Overall, if you are looking for something cheap to stay in for a couple of days, it’s not the worst, but don’t expect a lot.
Apr 13, 2025 · Z GFriendly staff. Relatively quiet. Frig but no microwave. Lots of counter space. Comfortable bed. The handle on the sink comes off. The only real criticism is that it was a no smoking room but with an ashtray and no way to open the window. The price was too high for this neighborhood, but ok for memorial weekend.
May 29, 2025 · JgwenI really loved my stay at this hotel. Everything looked new, clean, and well taken care of. The staff was amazing—super friendly and helpful from start to finish. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.l
