This transparent approach, where the fee is "explained quite clearly," prevents surprises and allows guests to make the most of it.
- 35 Daily Rate (Destination Fee): The hotel charges a $35 daily destination fee. It’s important to note that this is not an unexpected charge but is clearly communicated. Guests have highlighted that this fee can often be used as a credit towards on-site dining and bar services, offering a way to mitigate the cost while enjoying the hotel's amenities. For example, guests have successfully used this credit for "a round of drinks at the bar."
The Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel frequently offers promotions and special deals to enhance the value of your stay. While specific offers can vary based on seasonality and availability, it's always advisable to check their official website or contact them directly for the most current information.
Guests should be aware of the daily destination fee, which is currently $35. As noted by real customers, this fee is clearly explained upon check-in and is not a hidden charge. A significant benefit of this fee is that it can often be applied as a credit towards services within the hotel, such as food and beverage purchases at the on-site bar and restaurant (currently operating from the converted club lounge). This allows guests to effectively utilize the fee to enjoy drinks or meals during their stay, making it feel less like an additional cost and more like a pre-paid credit for amenities.

Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel Reviews
I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at the Sheraton Times Square. After reading many scathing reviews, I found the experience surprisingly enjoyable. Yes, the lobby and restaurant are are non-existent right now. However, they have turned their club lounge into a very comfortable bar and restaurant area that is very serviceable. Our stay started with Chris at the front desk who expertly walked us through the issues that we would encounter and the best way to avoid them. He was amazing, as was most of the staff we encountered. Come on, people, it is New York, you will inevitably cross paths with someone cranky. Bottom line... hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, and the location is absolute perfection. One more thing... It is explained quite clearly that you are charged $35 per day on top of your rate. It's not a surprise. We made the most of it and ended each evening in the bar with a round of drinks that we charged to our room that were paid for with the extra $35 we paid. They just want you to leave some of your money in the hotel. A lot of hotels do it, it is not groundbreaking. I will be back.
May 19, 2025 · Anne RomanoNicole at the front desk and Love in housekeeping made our stay truly a wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the Nicole and Love were incredibly friendly and efficient. My club suite was spectacular, impeccable, and extremely spacious, with all the amenities I needed. The restaurants and lobby are under construction. I appreciated the hotel's convenient location, which allowed me to easily explore the city's attractions. Beware, there is a $35 daily rate to use at restaurant and if your room isn’t ready $6 per luggage fee to hold until the room is ready. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, and I would highly recommend once construction is complete.
May 23, 2025 · Amanda GarciaI am a loyal Marriott user for over 20 years and have stayed at properties for over 1500 nights total.Hands-down, this is the worst property that I have stayed at in the entire portfolio . Service has been constantly terrible and hotel is not managed well. Most employees have been there since the beginning of time which is fine, but there is a lackadaisical effort behind everything they do.This location is constantly the best price, but that is for reason, you pay for what you got . I have been forced to stay here for multiple medical conferences and recently stayed this past week. Hotel was beyond packed and the renovations going on made it even worse. Before Covid, this property was gem but since then has gone downhill slow slowly. The exercise room is OK but dirty and old rooms are outdated and old. Uncomfortable beds. This seems to be a great spot for a lot of Europeans traveling on holiday that don't seem to know any better.Location is great and close to Central Park, BUT BEWARE THIS PROPERTY IS NOT WORTH STAYING AT!Don't even get me started on how long it takes to check into this property ...
May 22, 2025 · Will SmithFantastic location and easy to access public transport from it central location.Service was a little slow with the current renovations in progress, it did cause alot of queues and made the lobby very crowded. This wasn't highlighted on their website or communicated to us before we arrived. I imagine when this is completed, check ins and asking for assistance will happen much quicker. The rooms are dated and don't provide decent modern facilities you'd expect such a bottled water or a smart TV. The coffee machine didn't work properly and didn't offer a wide choice of teas/coffees. Beds were comfy and air conditioning made the room a comfortable temperature. Room was cleaned well but some fixtures like the wall sockets, wallpaper etc could do we replacing during to their age. The furniture could also do with being replaced. Can't comment on the food service as we were unable to try this during our week long stay as the queues were awful and in Starbucks area, the coffee machines were not working. We lost out on being able to use the $30 a day for food.Staff were helpful and friendly however. We felt very welcomed at check in and had no issues with payment or resort fees as these were included in our package from Virgin.Overall it's an okay hotel if you're looking for somewhere to just sleep however the price we paid did not reflect the service we received unfortunately!
May 01, 2025 · Amy GrahamAmazing experience. We had another hotel lined up around the corner, but arrived to see it had shut down. In a panic, we headed straight to the Sheraton. We were greeted by the most amazing employee I've come across, Debbie at reception. She was polite, accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. I am from Australia, and have travelled across Europe, America, Asia & Oceania in hundreds of hotels, and the service provided by Debbie trumped all other experiences. The room itself was very comfortable, great view, and housekeeping did a good job. The location of the hotel is unbeatable and the price is so competitive for the area and quality. We hope to come back and enjoy more holidays and stays. Thanks Sheraton Times Square and especially Debbie at front reception!
