This direct access to Central Park can be a significant draw, especially for those planning to spend their days exploring the park's vast offerings or enjoying the vibrant Upper West Side neighborhood.
Recent feedback suggests that while some aspects of the hotel, particularly the furniture, appear older, efforts have likely been made to address past concerns regarding cleanliness, with one review noting that "the mattress seemed new" and rooms were "clean-ish," implying a noticeable improvement. The hotel prides itself on its staff, frequently described by guests as "nice and helpful," a crucial element in any stay. - 24-Hour Front Desk: The hotel offers a 24-hour front desk, ensuring that guests can check in or out at any time and receive assistance with inquiries or issues around the clock. This is highlighted by reviews mentioning issues like a malfunctioning TV remote or power short circuits being "resolved within five minutes" by the front desk.
- Free WiFi: Complimentary wireless internet access is available in guest rooms and public areas, allowing guests to stay connected for work or leisure. Customer reviews confirm the presence of free WiFi.
- Luggage Storage: For guests arriving early or departing late, luggage storage services are available, providing convenience for exploring the city without their bags.
- Limited Housekeeping: Housekeeping services are provided, though some sources indicate it might be "once per stay" or "limited housekeeping." Recent reviews suggest rooms are generally clean upon arrival, but deep cleaning might be desired.
- Private Bathrooms: All guest rooms include a private bathroom with a shower/tub combination and towels. Hair dryers and basic toiletries are also typically provided.
- Room Comforts: Rooms come with air conditioning and heating, televisions with cable channels, and a desk. Laptop-compatible safes are also available in rooms for securing valuables.

It's worth noting that while basic amenities like a mini-fridge, hair dryer, and coffee maker are common in many hotels, one review specifically mentioned that this hotel might not be the place for those expecting these, suggesting their availability can vary or are not standard in all rooms. Guests prioritizing these particular amenities might want to confirm directly with the hotel upon booking.
- Direct Central Park Access: The Park West Hotel's most significant highlight is its literal doorstep access to Central Park. Located on Central Park West, guests are just steps away from jogging paths, green spaces, and iconic park attractions, offering an unparalleled urban escape.
- Budget-Friendly Option: In a city known for its high hotel prices, The Park West Hotel stands out as a more affordable accommodation choice. This makes it a viable option for those looking to maximize their budget while still enjoying a prime location.
- Convenient Public Transport: The immediate proximity to the 103rd Street subway station (B and C trains) is a major advantage, providing quick and easy access to virtually all parts of Manhattan, including Midtown and Downtown.

- Improved Cleanliness (Recent Reports): Some recent reviews suggest improvements in cleanliness, with mentions of new mattresses and generally clean rooms, indicating ongoing efforts to enhance the guest experience.
As a budget-friendly hotel, The Park West Hotel's "promotions" often revolve around providing competitive rates for its prime location rather than extensive packages. Direct, real-time special offers are not consistently advertised publicly and tend to be dynamic, changing with seasonality and demand. However, general types of offers common for properties in this category and location might include:
- Advance Purchase Rates: Booking well in advance might sometimes yield a slightly lower rate, though these are typically non-refundable.
- Non-Refundable Rates: Opting for a non-refundable booking often comes with a reduced price compared to flexible rates.
- Extended Stay Discounts: While not explicitly stated, hotels often offer incrementally lower rates for guests staying for multiple nights, encouraging longer bookings.
- Third-Party Booking Site Deals: Discounts may appear through online travel agencies (OTAs) like Expedia, Hotels.com, or Kayak. It is always advisable to compare prices across different platforms. Kayak reviews, for instance, mentioned finding "pretty cheap for NYC" rates.
- Direct Booking Benefits: Sometimes, hotels may offer minor perks or the best available rate directly through their own website or by phone to incentivize direct bookings, though this is less common for budget properties.
It's important for New Yorkers to note that the primary "deal" of The Park West Hotel is its competitive pricing for a Central Park West address. As one reviewer mentioned, "There are other hotels for $200 a night that would most likely be better," implying that its pricing is a key factor in guest choice.
For the most accurate and up-to-date pricing and any potential offers, it is highly recommended to:
- Check Online Travel Agencies (OTAs): Regularly monitor sites like Expedia, Hotels.com, Booking.com, and Kayak, as these platforms often list the most current rates and any flash sales.
- Call Directly: Contact the hotel directly at (212) 866-1880 or +1 212-866-1880. While they may not have explicit "promotions" advertised, they can provide the best available rates for your specific dates and potentially offer insight into any unadvertised specials.
Given the nature of the hotel, focus on securing a satisfactory rate for the excellent location, and manage expectations regarding complimentary inclusions or extensive package deals.

The Park West Hotel Reviews
The conditions are not deplorable or dirty but the furniture appears older and rooms are very small. The staff is nice and helpful. The location was right next to Central Park and good restaurants but room was very small, just big enough for the bed and a dresser. I gave the low rating primarily because the remote control for the TV wouldn't work, the toilet would not flush as it was clogged, and then the power short circuited in my room. I called the front desk as soon as I realized the AC unit had powered off and it was resolved within five minutes. If you are looking for a hotel with basic amenities (mini fridge, hair dryer, coffee maker), this is probably not the place you want to stay. I only stayed one night for work and picked the hotel based on location so for my purposes, it was fine. There are other hotels for $200 a night that would most likely be better.
Aug 11, 2022 · Angela ReyesThe hotel is not as bad as it was described in the old reviews. They probably made some changes there. There were no bed bugs, I checked and the mattress seemed new. The furniture is very old indeed, but the room was clean-ish. I mean it was very clean after the people that were there before us(we didn’t sow any hairs, or stuff like that), but it really needs some deep cleaning. The hotel is pretty cheap for NYC and for the fantastic area! The staff was very, very nice.
May 14, 2022 · Andreea SascăuI was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Recently stayed 4 nights, with my daughter who booked trip. Afterreading reviews, I was concerned about the cleanliness and other things but we were in a very clean room. The bathroom looked brand new. Plenty of hot water, a/c and heater both worked great and the staff were so friendly. Also, the location is perfect. We could see central park from our room window. Definitely recommend those hotel for a NYC visit.
Dec 22, 2021 · Melanie HartkeI love the location of this hotel. It was in the middle of everything made the commute shorter. The service was great as well, had a few hiccups nothing to complain about but the staff was on it right away. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the hotel is out dated. It needs some upgrades and the rooms were smaller than pictured. The only ice machine a d snack machine are in the basement and the stairs to get to the basement are very steep and not safe for anyone with knee or hip issues. Overall the service was great! Just upgrades needed.
Aug 18, 2022 · Shaniece PerkinsI love the location of this hotel right outside of Central Park! The rooms are definitely small and not fancy though at all. The building itself is only okay, and the elevator is tiny. The bathrooms are tight, but it's enough for staying! And the man at the front that greeted us was so kind and immediately helped get our bags inside from the Lyft and my wheelchair too. He was really conscientious, and that was really appreciated!
