The Roxy Hotel New York Introduce
For those of us who appreciate the vibrant pulse of New York City and seek an experience that transcends a typical hotel stay, The Roxy Hotel New York stands as a distinctive landmark. Nestled in the heart of Tribeca, this hotel isn't just about luxurious rooms; it's a destination in itself, a hub where music, film, and style converge to create an unforgettable downtown experience. While every New Yorker has a favorite haunt, The Roxy invites you to step into a world that feels both timeless and exceptionally contemporary, offering an immersive journey into the city's rich cultural scene. It's the kind of place where you could spend an entire evening without ever leaving the premises, yet remain perfectly poised to explore the best of Lower Manhattan.
The Roxy Hotel's history is steeped in the creative energy of downtown Manhattan. The building, located at 2 6th Ave, New York, NY 10013, USA, has long been a fixture in the Tribeca neighborhood, undergoing a significant transformation to become the iconic establishment it is today. Originally known as the Tribeca Grand Hotel, it was envisioned by the same owners as the equally stylish Soho Grand Hotel, aiming to establish a luxury presence in the then-emerging Tribeca area. The hotel underwent a comprehensive rebranding and renovation to become The Roxy Hotel, embracing a retro-chic aesthetic that pays homage to the vibrant jazz clubs and independent cinemas of a bygone era, while integrating modern amenities. This transformation solidified its identity as a cultural and entertainment hub, rather than just a place to sleep. Its walls are now adorned with iconic photography, and its venues echo with live music and film screenings, reflecting the artistic spirit that has long defined the SoHo and Tribeca districts.
Location is paramount in New York City, and The Roxy Hotel New York boasts an exceptional one. You'll find this stylish destination at 2 6th Ave, New York, NY 10013, USA, ideally situated on the vibrant borders of SoHo and Tribeca. This prime positioning means you're not just in one great neighborhood, but truly at the nexus of two of Manhattan's most desirable and culturally rich districts.
For New Yorkers, accessibility to The Roxy is incredibly convenient. The hotel is strategically located within easy walking distance of multiple major subway lines. The Canal Street station, a significant hub for numerous lines (including the A, C, E, J, N, Q, R, W, and Z trains), is just a short stroll away, ensuring seamless connectivity to virtually every corner of the city. Additionally, the Franklin Street station (1, 2, 3 trains) is also nearby, offering even more options. Its central downtown location also places you within minutes of iconic attractions like One World Trade Center, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, and the charming Washington Market Park. The Roxy Hotel New York Reviews
One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had – AVOID.Our stay at The Roxy Hotel was a disaster from beginning to end. We were moved to a different room every night due to the hotel’s poor planning and mismanagement. Not once did the staff take accountability or try to make the situation right. Instead, we were treated like a nuisance for simply expecting a functional and consistent room.Service was appalling. Colette at the front desk was rude, condescending, and aggressive — completely unfit for a guest-facing role. Nick, the manager on duty, was equally unhelpful and dismissive. When we raised concerns, he didn’t try to resolve them — he just offered to check us out. It was clear he wanted us gone rather than fixing anything.Cleanliness was also unacceptable. Each of the rooms we were placed in was dirty upon arrival — hair in the shower, grime on the floors, and obvious signs they hadn’t been properly cleaned. Housekeeping skipped our room entirely one day, even though we were out for hours. We had to chase basic necessities like towels and hangers, making multiple requests that were often ignored. One night we asked several times for clean towels and never received them.We were also locked out of our room with no explanation, waited 15–20 minutes every time we needed help at the front desk, and had water issues in every room. On top of that, we were charged for minibar items we never touched, and even after those were supposedly removed, another charge mysteriously appeared post-checkout.The hotel is disorganized, unclean, and shockingly indifferent to guests. I would never stay here again – and strongly suggest others steer clear.
May 26, 2025 · Sami MorMy husband and I had the most fantastic experience staying at the Roxy for three nights after throwing our wedding party nearby. The jazz, the restaurant and the really lovely rooms felt like traveling both back in time and to another country. It was awesome — and the hospitality from Marko and Colette at the desk was top notch. We can’t wait to return!!
Apr 21, 2025 · Rachel KentI stayed at The Roxy from May 22–25, 2025 and experienced something that left me feeling unsafe and dismissed. After switching rooms due to a mildew odor and really smelly carpet, I noticed a bodysuit top I had been carrying went missing. I called the front desk around 4:00 a.m. and described the item. The same staff member who helped with the room change came back upstairs. When we met in the elevator, he said, “There’s a purple top downstairs,” but had no explanation for how it got there. It was 4 a.m., and no one else was around—there’s no reasonable way it could’ve made it to the lobby without him being involved. I reported the issue the next morning and was told the manager would call me. He eventually did, said he’d “look into it,” and then never followed up. I had to go find him two days later myself, and he told me there were no hallway cameras and made an odd comment like, “He didn’t even have a key to your room.” It felt like deflection, not concern. There was no resolution. No apology. No accountability. I left the hotel feeling completely uncomfortable and unsafe—so much so that I didn’t trust the staff with my luggage after checkout. I personally walked my bags to the holding area and asked if there was surveillance because I no longer trusted the environment. For a boutique hotel at this price point, this was beyond disappointing. I would never return, and I hope other guests think twice.---
May 27, 2025 · Addie BrooksA Hidden Gem in NYC – The Roxy Hotel is Pure Magic! From the moment I stepped into The Roxy Hotel, I felt like royalty. The experience was seamless, luxurious, and unforgettable. As soon as I walked through the doors, I was greeted with a glass of champagne—talk about a warm welcome! When I got to my room, I was surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine and a decadent chocolate cake just waiting for me. It was such a thoughtful touch that instantly made me feel at home (but better!).This hotel is not just a place to stay—it’s an experience. From the incredible live band performances to their in-house cinema that plays classic films, there’s always something to do. And let’s talk about Django—the on-site jazz lounge. The vibe is unmatched, transporting you to a different era with smooth tunes and a cozy, sophisticated atmosphere. And yes… FREE breakfast. A full spread, delicious and fresh. The cherry on top!Everything at The Roxy Hotel screams style, service, and soul. I give it a solid 10/10—I honestly can’t wait to go back. Whether you’re visiting NYC for the first time or just need a staycation with flair, this is the place to be.I did not want to leave. I was celebrating my birthday by myself. The people at the front desk were phenomenal. They made me laugh despite me trying to find my card, and I left my charger box at home I was a wreck before I walked in that door but everything changed within a matter of seconds just by the two gentlemen’s at the front counter. They turned my frown to a smile. And I definitely appreciate it.I honestly didn’t want to leave. I was celebrating my birthday solo, and walking in, I was a bit of a mess—But the moment I stepped into The Roxy, everything shifted. The two gentlemen at the front desk were phenomenal. They were warm, funny, and so genuine—within seconds, they had me laughing and feeling completely at ease. They truly turned my day around and made me feel special when I needed it most. What started off rocky turned into one of the most memorable birthdays I’ve ever had, all thanks to their kindness and energy. I’m so grateful—and I’ll definitely be back.I even left my umbrella in the room and was able to borrow one from the front counter. Traveling by myself I am like the boy off home alone I’m always leaving something lol or get lost lolCheck in 4/5/25 check out 4/6/25
