LIC has evolved into a thriving hub, offering a unique blend of industrial heritage, modern residential developments, burgeoning arts scenes, and fantastic waterfront parks with iconic skyline views.
Accessibility to and from the Capital Hotel to various parts of New York City is a key advantage, primarily due to its close proximity to the subway system. Guests note that the hotel is "7-10 minutes away from Subway station." Specifically, the 21 St-Queensbridge station, serving the F train, is a common access point from this area. The F train provides direct and efficient service to Midtown Manhattan, including destinations like Rockefeller Center, the Theater District, and Bryant Park, making it straightforward to reach major attractions and business centers. The hotel itself is consistently described as feeling "really safe once you’re inside." For those accustomed to urban environments, the strong point of seamless subway access to the rest of the city often outweighs these external considerations, providing a practical and connected base for their New York experience.

Capital Hotel Reviews
Very good hotel. The building is new. It is located at a street with some hotels, but the neighborhood is kind of hard. However - felt safe pretty much of my stay there, including going back to the room at late nights. 7-10 minutes away from Subway station. The room that I had was very nice, looked new, had some nice amenities and facilities. Also clean - not in the highest standards, but pretty decent. However, the room does not have microwave or coffee maker, a thing made me go to the nearest Dunkin' every morning to buy myself some coffee. They have vending machines (cash only) and microwaves at the basement floor, as the services they offer. Staff was very nice and helpful. They also have luggage storage for no charge if you come before check-in, and check-out while you have late night flight.
Jun 27, 2022 · Onn LHad a great stay, it is currently my second time here. Staff is extremely nice, room always modern and clean, tv works and great price! However the neighborhood is pretty rough. Every time I leave the subway there’s some police car on the street. A lot of catcalling on the way to the subway. Just be aware of that if you’re traveling alone, however there never was a situation that escalated. The hotel feels really safe once you’re inside though.
Aug 24, 2022 · Serena HabermaierMy main issue was cleanliness - my shower was dirty, and there was gum or some type of dirt pressed into the floor. The room also had a weird smell. Other issues are minor things - you’re given a room service card that doesn’t work, there’s no breakfast, and no water other than what you can get from a vending machine or the sinks/showers. Upon my arrival the hotel had somehow lost my reservation and there was an issue checking in. However, the staff are really friendly, the location is nice, and the hotel safe. I would stay here again but it wouldn’t be my top choice.
May 15, 2022 · Emily McNairThis was the most affordable place to stay in NYC. We were happy to stay in Queens, and the location is actually good too – very close to the subway, which does take you into Manhattan, and it's also a 10-minute walk from some really great restaurants as well as a 20-minute walk to Astoria. The room was so much better than we expected: we had read some reviews saying there were cleanliness issues, but we didn't encounter any while there. The concierge was always so friendly, helpful, and professional, and overall you can't beat the price for what you get here – a no-frills, conveniently located, fuss-free stay.
Dec 23, 2021 · Yi Ning ChangVery comfortable room. The neighborhood was calmed during the day, a little bit sketchy during the night but nothing dangerous. The staff was very kind and professional. They let you keep your luggage if you check out early. The room cleanliness was good in general, tho there was an old cup behind a wardrobe and a pair of underwear behind the bed
