This indicates that the hotel prioritizes cleanliness and guest safety, which are fundamental aspects of a comfortable stay.
High Floor Views (Potential): While one specific "urban-view" room received a disappointing view, the fact that rooms are located on higher floors (up to 33 floors) suggests that other rooms might offer compelling city views, which is a desirable feature in New York City.
Standard Marriott Amenities: As a Courtyard by Marriott, the hotel generally adheres to brand standards, providing expected amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, a fitness center, and a bistro for dining convenience. This offers a level of familiarity and reliability for Marriott Bonvoy members.
It is important for potential guests to be aware of the noted challenges, such as ongoing facade construction, and some interior maintenance issues (stained headboard, damaged door latch, bathroom ceiling stains, non-working lights/phone in some rooms, shower leaks, and carpet odors). While the staff's responsiveness is a positive, these physical conditions are aspects to consider.
As part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, Courtyard New York Manhattan/Times Square regularly participates in various promotions and special offers, providing opportunities for guests to enhance their stay value. While specific deals are dynamic and can change frequently, it's always recommended to check directly with the hotel or through Marriott's official channels for the most current information.
Common promotions and loyalty benefits that guests might find include:
Marriott Bonvoy Member Rates: Marriott Bonvoy members typically receive exclusive discounted rates when booking directly through Marriott channels. Members also earn points on eligible stays, which can be redeemed for free nights, room upgrades, and other travel benefits across the vast Marriott global network. Elite members may enjoy additional perks like late check-out (subject to availability) and bonus points.
Seasonal and Destination-Specific Offers: The hotel may participate in broader Marriott promotions tied to specific seasons (e.g., winter sales, summer packages) or New York City events. These could include discounts for longer stays (e.g., "Stay Longer & Save") or packages that bundle the room rate with other amenities.
Advance Purchase Rates: For travelers with confirmed plans, booking well in advance can often unlock lower, non-refundable rates, providing a cost-saving option.
Corporate and Group Rates: For business travelers whose companies have established agreements with Marriott, or for those booking multiple rooms for a group event, special corporate or group rates are typically available.
Bundled Packages: Sometimes, packages might include additional amenities like parking, dining credits, or tickets to local attractions, offering more comprehensive value for a stay.
Guests should carefully review the terms and conditions of any promotion. While the hotel staff is praised for being helpful, as noted in reviews for other hotels, complex issues (like specific refund requests for "award upgrades" or price match guarantees) may require persistent follow-up with corporate channels. The focus of the provided reviews was on the physical condition of the hotel rather than promotion-related issues, but it's a general consideration for any large hotel chain.

Courtyard New York Manhattan/Times Square Reviews
Disappointing Stay Despite Friendly StaffStayed here while visiting NYC and unfortunately this Courtyard Marriott didn’t meet expectations. While the service staff were kind and helpful (4/5 stars for them), the overall condition of the hotel was rough. There was ongoing facade construction, which is understandable, but the interior condition of the room was worse:-Stained headboard that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time.-Damaged door latch and frame, appearing hastily patched and insecure.-Mold or water staining on the bathroom ceiling — clearly a long-standing issue.I didn’t raise these concerns during my stay, but I feel future travelers deserve a heads-up. This property needs serious maintenance and a refresh to live up to the Marriott name. I hope improvements are made soon.(Photos attached to review.)
May 22, 2025 · Chris MurphyWe booked an executive urban-view room. It was on the 32nd floor (of 33 floors).Very clean and felt sanitary in all ways. Felt safe. However, only had an adjustable hand-held shower — no overhead shower. The view was horrendous considering it was a priority of ours when we booked for the urban view. It was only feet away from the next wall of the hotel and immediately enclosed, so no view at all except into other rooms.Food options very poor; however, lots of great locations near hotel. The location for commuting around downtown Manhattan was lovely when travelling around.
May 02, 2025 · Courtney MiltonThe hotel is less than okay overall. The location is good, and check-in was smooth. The only real positive is the decent size of the room and bathroom—not as cramped as many New York hotels. That said, the breakfast was terrible. I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I called it the worst hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. I got a voucher for either a hot or cold option and went with the hot one, which turned out to be a mistake. I got a sad, flavorless omelet and a hash brown that was so over-fried it was practically inedible—not what you’d expect for the price. On top of that, the hair conditioner dispenser in the shower was empty—not a huge deal, but still annoying when you’re paying $300 a night.I won’t be coming back to this hotel, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.
May 08, 2025 · Petro StytsenkoThis hotel was the perfect launching pad for our trip. So close to everything we needed and planned to do. And right next to all the attractions. The staff was amazing and friendly and very accommodating. Beds and rooms were comfortably appointed. No microwave in room but one in lobby.Breakfast vouchers were given for 2 persons each day and the hotel had very reasonable options both warm and cold. One difficulty was the elevators were having trouble, and when a 32+ floor elevator isn’t working, it can definitely put a hitch in your plan. There are 3 elevators used by guests and staff. At one point we were down to 1.Also be sure to carry your room key if you go down the stairs to the lobby floor. One stairwell opens directly to the street on the backside of the building so without the key to get in, you have to walk around the block :)Lots of homeless on one side of the building at night, but it’s hard to avoid that in a city
Mar 26, 2025 · Shannon PierceWonderful hotel a few steps away from Bryant Park and Fifth Ave shops and a short stroll to Times Square, Grand Central Station/Chrysler Bldg, Empire State/Macy's/Koreatown. Quite busy hotel but worth the stay because of the great location. Get a room with a view of the Empire State Bldg.
