Days Inn by Wyndham Long Island City Introduce
For New Yorkers, and indeed for anyone planning a visit to our incredible metropolis, finding the right hotel can be a pivotal part of the overall experience. While the bright lights of Manhattan often beckon, savvy travelers and locals often look to neighboring boroughs like Queens for value, convenience, and a different perspective on the city. Long Island City, in particular, has emerged as a prime destination, offering a dynamic urban environment with unparalleled access to Manhattan. Among the many options in this evolving neighborhood is the Days Inn by Wyndham Long Island City, a hotel that aims to provide a practical and accessible base for exploring all that New York City has to offer.
The Days Inn by Wyndham brand is well-known for offering straightforward, budget-friendly accommodations, and their Long Island City location aligns with this philosophy. It caters to a diverse range of guests, from first-time international travelers eager to explore the city to business visitors seeking a convenient commute. As with any popular hotel, experiences can vary, and it's essential to consider all aspects when deciding if it's the right fit for your needs. This article aims to provide a comprehensive and factual overview of the Days Inn by Wyndham Long Island City, drawing from publicly available information and guest insights to help you make an informed decision for your next stay in our great city.
The Days Inn by Wyndham Long Island City is conveniently located at 31-36 Queens Blvd, Long Island City, NY 11101, USA. This address places it directly on Queens Boulevard, a major thoroughfare in Long Island City, providing excellent visibility and accessibility. Long Island City (LIC) itself is one of New York City's fastest-growing neighborhoods, renowned for its striking skyline views of Manhattan, vibrant arts scene, burgeoning restaurant landscape, and numerous waterfront parks.
A significant advantage of this hotel's location is its superb connectivity to Manhattan and other boroughs via New York City's subway system. The hotel is noted for being immediately next to an elevated train line, which means while there might be some noise, the trade-off is incredibly direct and swift access to public transit. The 33rd Street – Rawson Street subway station (served by the 7 train) is often mentioned as being within a very short walk, potentially just a few minutes. The 7 train is a direct line into Midtown Manhattan, making it incredibly convenient for reaching iconic destinations like Times Square, Bryant Park, and Grand Central Terminal. Furthermore, the hotel is also relatively close to other major subway hubs in LIC, such as Queensboro Plaza, which provides access to the N, W, and R trains, offering even more options for navigating the city.
For those traveling by car, the hotel offers on-site parking, which is a significant amenity in New York City and often provided for free, a rare and valuable benefit for drivers. Its location also facilitates relatively easy access to and from LaGuardia Airport (LGA), which is typically a short taxi or ride-share trip away. The combination of direct subway access, on-site parking, and proximity to a major airport makes the Days Inn by Wyndham Long Island City an exceptionally convenient base for both leisure and business travelers exploring New York City.

The Days Inn by Wyndham Long Island City, despite some mixed public reviews regarding aspects like noise and cleanliness, possesses several features and highlights that are noteworthy and appeal to different types of travelers. It's important to present these factually to help New Yorkers make an informed choice:
- Prime Long Island City Location: Its placement directly on Queens Boulevard in LIC is a significant highlight. This offers guests the advantage of being in a rapidly developing and exciting borough with its own cultural attractions, diverse dining, and stunning Manhattan skyline views, while maintaining excellent connectivity to the rest of NYC.
- Exceptional Subway Access: The hotel's immediate proximity to the elevated train line, particularly the 7 train (at 33rd Street – Rawson Street), is a major feature. This provides incredibly fast and direct access to Midtown Manhattan, making it a highly convenient base for sightseeing or business in the city center without the higher cost of Manhattan hotels.
- Complimentary Breakfast: The inclusion of a free continental breakfast is a valuable highlight, especially for budget-conscious travelers. It allows guests to start their day with a meal without additional expense, which can be a significant saving in New York City.
- Free On-Site Parking: In a city where parking is notoriously expensive and scarce, the availability of free on-site parking is a rare and highly advantageous feature for guests traveling by car.
- Indoor Swimming Pool (where available): While not universally confirmed across all listings, some sources indicate the presence of an indoor swimming pool. If available, this would be a significant amenity, offering a recreational option that many hotels in this price point in NYC do not provide.
- Affiliation with Wyndham Rewards: As a Wyndham property, guests can earn and redeem Wyndham Rewards points for their stays, which is a highlight for loyalty program members.
- Accessibility Features: The hotel strives to offer accessible rooms and facilities, catering to guests with diverse mobility needs.
While some guests have noted concerns about noise due to proximity to the elevated train and cleanliness, these are aspects to consider alongside the benefits of its strategic location, free amenities, and value proposition.

Days Inn by Wyndham Long Island City Reviews
Stayed at this hotel years ago during a big trip. I was so scared as I was completely alone and it was my first time travelling from another country. They went above and beyond to reassure me and despite being a young lady on my own I felt so safe and taken care of. It'd probably be a very long review if I left all the info but I'd highly recommend this place for any first time travellers
Jun 18, 2024 · Noel McCallisterThis is the most filthy disgusting hotel I have ever been to. The outside is dirty, the hallways are dirty and the rooms are dirty. I was traveling for business and I have stayed in many NYC hotels and this is by far the dirtiest hotel I have ever been in. It is dirtier than any hotel I have ever been in with the exception of my travels to India. I made the decision to leave the hotel because it was uninhabitable. Furthermore, as I was checking for bedbugs, I cut myself on the bed frame because the appropriate guard was missing from the metal frame and that cut required medical attention. This hotel is also very loud as it is immediately next to the elevated train. The mattresses do not have bed bug covers. The mattresses are cheap spring mattress and very uncomfortable. The first room contained a broken bed frame and so I had the opportunity to go to another room which was equally as filthy, with an uncomfortable mattress. They have a half ironing board, however, I would not be able to iron my clothes without having them become dirty as the surfaces and floor in the room were so dirty. I highly recommend staying elsewhere if you are traveling for business, leisure or with children.
Apr 23, 2022 · Miles mcintoshSpend the extra $40-$60 for another hotel. Nothing about this stay was good. The photos they show are not accurate at all and the negative reviews you read from everyone are spot on. The air in the whole hotel is stale smoke, the floor is sticky (everywhere including rooms), the bathrooms are not clean (hair/dirt from others), the beds are not queens they are doubles (which are smaller than full), the AC wall unit worked sometimes and thankfully the weekend we stayed it wasn't incredibly hot so it just made things alittle uncomfortable. There looked to be a homeless man laying on the bench inside of "lobby" when we checked out. The one positive thing about this place is there is a 7-11 right around the corner and the owners are amazing. I hope you listen to this review and find another place to enjoy your trip to an amazing city!
Sep 23, 2022 · Erin DructorLocation good, but parking VERY limited roughly only 10 spots. Says there’s free continental breakfast but there was nothing but coffee. Our toilet didn’t work in our room so we had to keep using the community one in the lobby we told them about our toilet 2 times prior. Tv channels are terrible. Trash cans tiny, no microwave. The key card was giving slot of issues not working so we had to get a new one. Our sheets had a few long blank hairs on them that were not ours, which makes me think they didn’t clean the sheets, they definitely had a bed bug problem at one point because I found some bed bug stains on the sheets no bugs though. Blanket had cigarette burn holes. Get what you pay for on New Years Eve though I guess. Probably won’t ever come here again.
Jan 02, 2022 · Jacqueline LevasseurSo I debated if I should give this hotel a 4 star for not having much parking or a five for the excellent service and clean room. I decided to give them a 5 star, not taken off the one star for their minimum parking. This hotel is clean, warm, and comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Although there are only 14 parking spot for the entire hotel you can park on nearby streets. The breakfast was fresh, nice and well tasty. There was a variety of items to choose from such as sausage, eggs, cheese, bagels, croissants etc. Check out and check in was a breeze. They also have late checkout time which as nice. It is convenient located next to just about everything. This is going to be where I will be staying when visiting NY in the future. Highly recommended.
