Hotel Stanford Reviews
The location is fantastic, but the staff's service is completely unacceptable. We arrived at 8 AM and requested they hold our luggage until our check-in time at 4 PM. It took an unreasonable amount of time for this to be handled. When we returned around 4:30 PM to check in, our room was not ready (which can happen), but the staff treated us poorly instead of providing a proper explanation. When we inquired about the delay, they made it seem like we were the problem. After nearly an hour of waiting, the issue was finally resolved, but they tossed the room key at us without any explanation.Furthermore, our room went uncleaned for three days. I had to constantly retrieve towels for the third person registered in our room. The breakfast was also subpar. When I requested to speak with the manager, he came down and suggested that the issues were our fault.I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. Our experience here was severely disappointing, and it became clear that they were not interested in resolving issues or taking responsibility for their shortcomings.I do not recommend it!
May 25, 2025 · Sophie RisnerThis hotel is centrally located and easy to navigate the city. The rooms are a good size but definitely up grades could be made to carpet and all.One elevator makes things a bit challenging during busy hours of the day.Room service was pretty much non existent. They came both days between 4-5 after we had been gone ALL and were back getting ready to head back out.On the 3rd day we asked for room to be cleaned when we left at 10 AMArrived back around 4 and still NO service.Told front desk and asked again as we left for dinner.Arrived back shortly before 9 and room still had not been serviced. We were completely out of clean towels and toilet paper.Ridiculous! And no phone number to call down to the front desk. Will not be staying here again given there are hundreds of other hotels in the same area!
Apr 27, 2025 · Amy MitchellWe were 3 friends at the Stanford hotel from May 13 to 16 to celebrate my birthday and the check -in we had problems. Our room has been awarded to other customers. We had to wait for us to give us another room and the receptionist was really not conciliatory not pleasant, we seemed to annoy him. We were 3 people and had 2 towels every day, had to claim every day. The room was not apparently cleaning time. For the price of the room we expected a breakfast worthy of the name. No eggs no pastries just apples and bananas. Poor breakfast. My stay in New York should have been perfect and unfortunately we did not choose the best hotel. Very disappointed! We chose it in relation to the opinions, but they are not all in accordance with what we hoped.
May 25, 2025 · Paula TStayed 3 nights in April 2025 for a concert at Madison Square Garden and some other events. The location is excellent, close to major sights. Friendly staff, especially the doorman who helped with my bags (both arrival & departure).Room was tiny but efficient. Unlimited tea and coffee, plus the hotel gives 10% off coupons for nearby restaurants.Downsides: They don't offer early check-in. Luckily I found somewhere nearby to relax until my room was ready! My heater didn’t work & room was freezing (they gave me a space heater), the bathtub didn’t drain well so water pooled, and elevator was extremely slow (thankfully I was on a lower floor, so took the stairs). They didn't allow me to take my breakfast to my room which I found odd. Never experienced that at any hotel. I prefer to always eat in the privacy of my room.Overall, good value for the location, but I'll probably try out somewhere else next time.
May 14, 2025 · jtt bizAbsolutely do not stay at this place! What a disaster. First off their front desk staff are not physically clear or well kept. The staff smokes cigarettes in the entry way and the lobby smells of cigarettes. They were without water and knew there was no water. Failed to inform me. Then after swiping my card informed me that they had no water leaving me without a toilet or any basic utility needed to be kept up to NYC sanitation standards. I am currently filing a claim with 311. I am also filing a fraud charge on my credit card and with hotels.com.
