Royal Stay Hotel Introduce
For those in the New York region searching for lodging options, it is crucial to be aware of the current status of the Royal Stay Hotel, located at 3830 Crescent St, Astoria, NY 11101, USA. Based on recent and consistent public information, this establishment is permanently closed. Attempts to contact the hotel via its listed phone number (718) 706-6004 or +1 718-706-6004 lead to a voicemail indicating a former affiliation with Ramada (which was removed over four years ago in 2020) and a full mailbox, eventually disconnecting. There are no current notices or status updates posted at the physical location, which appears to be locked and inactive.
Prior to its closure, the Royal Stay Hotel, under its former "Royal Stay Hotel" branding and prior to its disaffiliation from Wyndham/Ramada, received overwhelmingly negative customer feedback. Reviews from guests described severe concerns regarding cleanliness, safety, and customer service. Specifically, issues reported included:
Unsanitary Conditions: Guests found cigarette marks on sheets, trash on floors, dirty floors, thick layers of dust on furniture, and "weird stains" on curtains. The general smell was described as a mixture of "old tobacco smoke and a dash of weed."
Safety Concerns: Reports indicated a non-functioning door lock in a room, with staff initially reluctant to address the issue. The immediate neighborhood was described as feeling unsafe by some, particularly at night, leading to genuine fear for personal safety.
Poor Customer Service: Multiple reviews highlighted "worse and indifference attitude" from front desk staff, with accusations of unprofessional, unhelpful, and rude behavior. Instances included demands for cash deposits with no change, perceived attempts to "squeeze as much money" from guests, and staff appearing to "ignore you and make minimal effort" to address concerns.
Discrepancy with Online Images: Guests noted a significant difference between older, decent-looking pictures on booking platforms (like Agoda and Booking.com) and the actual, much poorer condition of the hotel.
Given its permanent closure and the historical record of severe operational and guest satisfaction issues, the Royal Stay Hotel is not a viable option for lodging in the New York area. For locals seeking accommodation for themselves or their visitors, it is strongly advised to seek alternative, reputable hotels with current operations and positive, verifiable reviews. The information clearly suggests that staying at this establishment would not be a "comfortable trip or stay."

Royal Stay Hotel Reviews
This Hotel is permanently closed... The phone # still works but goes to a voice-mail that says it's a Long Island City Ramada to a full mailbox and then hangs up. WYNDAM RAMADA status was Removed over 4 years ago in 2020 ànd they changed the name to a Private Hotel " ROYAL STAY HOTEL" but they lie because they have NO Afilliation to Wyndam or Ramada at all. They had such bad service and poor conditions with a 2.0 rating. They need to totally overhaul this place with new management or ownership or literally just level this building and start over. No one is there it is locked and closed 2ith no notices or status posted recording still says Ramada which is a lie since they broke affiliation in 2020. Appears to be Permanently Closed Finally Hopefully the Rude Arrogant previous Owners are gone for good and maybe someone can get a good deal at Auction if it's Forclosed on
Oct 08, 2024 · Scott BryantThis has been the worst hotel experience of our lives. Please go somewhere else, because no matter how little money you have, this hotel doesn't deserve any of it.Yes, the pictures on Agoda and Booking.com look decent, and but reality is very different. Those pictures most be old. When we arrived in our room, there was cigarette marks on the sheets, trash on the floor, the floor was dirty, there was a thick layer of dust on the furniture, and weird stains on the curtains. If we were to describe the general smell in the hotel, it was a mixture of old tobacco smoke and a dash of weed. The lock in our hotel door didn't work, and that brings us to the next problem of the hotel... the staff. When we asked the receptionist to help us, he didn't want to come to our room and seemed like he couldn't care less, that we couldn't lock our door to protect our valuables. He told us, that he would keep an eye on our room though the security camera. What an amazing offer (this is sarcasm!) We had to insist to get him to come upstairs to take a look at our room, and help us fix the door, and we took the occasion to also give him a tour of the 'wonders' of our room - the trash, the dirt, and the stains. Again, he didn't care. His behaviour represented our overall experience with the staff very well. Upon our arrival, we were met by another receptionist, who demanded a deposit in cash (never heard of that before), and he didn't have a change of a 100 dollars, and insisted on taking the 100 instead of 60. Everything seemed very dodgy and suspicious, and his English was very bad and he didn't understand what we were saying. But we had the feeling he was acting like he didn't speak English and seem stupid on purpose to get our money. We also read that other guest had similar experiences with the staff. The staff was always changing - every day there was a new receptionist, and no one seems to care of the needs and requests of the guests and ignore you and make minimal effort when you talk to them.So just to make it clear, coming here is not worth saving some money. It feels unsafe, unstructured and frankly like they are just trying to squeeze as much money out of their guests as they can. Spend your money somewhere else!!!
May 22, 2022 · Andrés Maseres JavaloyA Royal Disaster. This hotel should have been condemned and shut down by the city by now.Old, dirty, outdated rooms with paper thin walls. We checked in and the first thing we see is a small cockroach in the bed.We immediately leave and ask to change rooms. The unenthusiastic, unapologetic receptionist moved us to a dank, small dwelling in the basement. The heater didn't work and the light in the bathroom would not turn off. After the first night we were lucky to have Expedia step in and cancel the remaining stay. While we were leaving a group of people was waiting to check out and there's was no staff to help. Another guest said he also saw roaches and was leaving 3 days early. So stay anywhere, in a hostel, at an Airbnb, under a bridge, on a park bench or wherever, as long as it is not here.
Dec 08, 2022 · David SThis is the review thats gonna give you peace of mind. After booking this hotel I read the reviews and the amount of stress that I got was unreal, I was super paranoid and scared. But I had no choice so I came in for check in anyways. Believe me its not as bad as it seems. The ac is bomb always blasting and the bathroom is clean. It's not a 5 star hotel but it definitely does the job. The guy at the front was nice. They do require a $60 cash deposit and they have an atm in the lobby. Everything worked well inside the room. It's not the 4 seasons but it's a decent motel. I hope I gave someone peace of mind with this review cause I know I was defiantly stressed after reading the other ones prior to arrival.
Sep 10, 2022 · Emily GutierrezGood place to stay. If you're looking for something cheap and good, this is the place. It was clean, didn't have bad smell, train station close to the hotel, comfortable (I stayed in the King Bedroom). The only detail you have to keep in mind is that they only accept cash when you check in. Check in time is at 3:00pm, they don't have chairs in the lobby, so try to get there by the check in time. Other than that, it was fine. Don't complain at all. 👍🏼
