The Ned NoMad Reviews
The restaurant at the hotel is incredible. The food is the best and the staff is amazing! Enrique the bartender was very nice and took care of us twice during our stay in the hotel! Will come back!!
May 14, 2025 · Erika ContrerasWe checked in on late afternoon on Friday for a wedding in January. It became obvious during the first night that we didn't have heat in our room. Saturday morning we spoke to the front desk personnel and they said it would be checked. When we returned to the hotel late afternoon, we were told that it was fine and that it worked by motion detector. Our reply was when you are sleeping you aren't moving! Saturday night we returned from the wedding to again no heat. We checked out Sunday morning.I received an email from the night manager promising a $355.76 refund for our inconvenience. What was refunded, $215.79.I have sent two more emails asking them to live up to their promise but no reply. This is not a trustworthy business!
Feb 19, 2025 · Jane AronoffI was a member of the Ned from close to the time it opened until last December when I paused my membership. This December my membership pause ended and I decided to cancel. I reached out to the head of membership and she confirmed the cancellation, but I was later charged and needed to follow up (at the time of writing still awaiting refund). The membership aspect of the club originally was the reason I joined. There were two locations slated to be in NYC, one in the American Exchange building downtown and one at the Broadway location. Up until last November the Ned membership confirmed the second location was coming. This obviously is not going to materialize based on timelines laid out when I joined in 2022.In addition, the current location is now accessible to public and hotel guests and only the roof and dining room are exclusive to the club members. The aspects of the club I originally enjoyed were a robust programming of events, live music daily and the private atmosphere. All of these have been compromised by management actions. The club has had its share of staff turnover, mismanagement of liquor license, and food quality issues during my membership as well.I recommend avoiding the Ned based on my experience.
Jan 03, 2025 · jake smarrI'm almost hesitant to leave this review because it might inspire more people to book, and then the rates will go up. We stayed two nights at The Ned and I felt like I was in the lap of luxury! The staff were super friendly, helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. My boyfriend is a well known photographer, and the associates at the front desk recognized who he was when I told them his name. They sent a bottle of complimentary wine to the room. The room itself was clean, super comfy, and the vintage style freestanding tub was so romantic. The shower was really nice, not a spot on the linens and towels, and the room was quiet. Yes, some of the details are old (such as the tiles in the shower and the floorboards in the room), however I thought this is what made the room charming. In addition, my boyfriend and I enjoyed the use of the bathrobes and slippers in the room. Little Ned around the corner had the best Negroni I've ever had and breakfast at Cecconi's was super posh. I enjoyed the coconut yogurt with honeycomb, strawberries, and bananas. I would definitely come back!
Jan 22, 2025 · Tiffany CheungDisappointing ExperienceMy stay here left me questioning how 5-star ratings are determined, as this hotel falls short in service, quality, and attention to detail. While the property has a stylish aesthetic, it seems more focused on appearances than delivering a truly exceptional experience.Pros:• Location: Convenient and central.• Comfort: The bed was cozy.• Housekeeping: Amy, the housekeeper, was polite and professional.Cons:1. Service: There was no doorman to assist with luggage, and the front desk staff were indifferent. A luxury hotel should excel in hospitality, but this was sadly not the case.2. Cleanliness: My shower had mold along the floors, and the room was dusty in many areas—unacceptable at any level, let alone for a high-end property.3. Room Service: The food sucked! To make matters worse I ordered for three people, and no silverware was delivered. When I called down to request it, I was initially told to check the tray (it wasn’t there). The room service attendant questioned me again when he delivered it later—an insulting and unnecessary interaction. I ended up walking across the street to 7th Street for a better burger.Ultimately, the combination of poor service, lack of cleanliness, and inattentive staff made this stay a disappointment. While it may look the part of a luxury hotel, it fails to deliver where it matters most. I would not spend another dollar to stay here and recommend looking elsewhere for a truly five-star experience.
